The Hospice of St. Mary’s bereavement department offers services to the St. Mary’s county community. Both individual and group counseling are available for hospice families and also for community members.
Group Support is offered for all ages, with groups being specific to adults/children and particular grief types.
The following grief supports are offered for children and teens:
- Sunrise Children’s Grief Group meets once a week for 8 consecutive weeks and is a closed group. The group is designed for any child who has lost a loved one through death. Registration is required. This group is offered several times a year.
- “Through My Eyes” Teen Support Group meets once a week for eight consecutive weeks. This group is designed for any adolescent/teen who has lost a loved one through death. Registration is required
- Camp Sunrise is held once a year and is a two day weekend camp that is designed to support children who have lost a loved one through death. This is offered in June and registration is required.
